A History of Investment Experience
Driehaus Capital Management LLC is a Chicago-based investment adviser, registered with the U.S.Securities and Exchange Commission. Founded in 1982 by Richard H. Driehaus as a growth-equity style investment boutique, the firm manages 11 investment strategies under a common investment philosophy. The Firm employs this investment philosophy on behalf of a diverse group of institutional clients, including corporate pensions, endowments, foundations, sub-advisory, and family offices.
Mr. Driehaus began his professional career developing research ideas for the institutional clients of a Chicago-based brokerage firm. In 1979, what is now known as Driehaus Securities LLC was formed as a broker-dealer to provide growth investment research and trade execution services to large institutional clients. To focus more clearly on client accounts, Driehaus Capital Management LLC was formed and Driehaus Securities LLC’s sole focus became providing best execution for Driehaus Capital Management LLC’s clients.
The firm’s niche is that of a smaller, performance-oriented investment adviser with the resources of a much larger organization. It is the objective of the firm to create investment strategies that generate superior rates of return over a full market cycle. The firm monitors capacity to ensure that the assets in each individual investment strategy do not hinder its ability to generate alpha. We do not view risk management as a function that constrains return, but as an informational process that centers on using risk to seek returns that significantly outperform the relevant index.
With exceptional performance records and investment teams, we believe we are well positioned to continue to create value for our clients.
