Daniel Rea directs the firm’s corporate development efforts and conducts investment strategy oversight. Mr. Rea is responsible for corporate strategy, new product development, and acquisitions. He also reviews portfolio characteristics to confirm consistency with stated objectives and evaluates absolute and relative investment performance. Additionally, he serves on the firm’s business management committee.
Mr. Rea began his career in corporate finance in the Financial Management Program (FMP) at GE Capital Corporation. He joined Driehaus Capital Management in 1997 as a domestic research analyst and was promoted to portfolio manager in 1998. In 2000, Mr. Rea joined BlackRock where he was a senior equity analyst and portfolio manager on its Global Opportunities Team. In 2005, he joined Franklin Templeton Investments as a senior equity analyst and healthcare sector leader on its Global Large Cap Growth Team. He rejoined Driehaus in 2006 and was a portfolio manager on several international and global growth strategies. Mr. Rea also served as the firm’s Director of Research from 2006 to 2017. He received his B.S. in accountancy from Marquette University in 1995.
